[New User] Trying to boot from SD Card

Hello,

I have purchased a Firefly RK3288 reload, and have been having some issues.

Currently the board powers on with the blue light turning on by itself when I plug it in without the power button being pressed, although nothing but a black screen is displayed on the monitor

I have been attempting to boot from and SD card following the instructions on the wiki, however when the SD card is inserted into the board, it will no longer power on.

What originally got me to this point was when I attempted to put it into "loader mode" by pressing the recovery and reset keys as described in the wiki. Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!
