Title: Download error in MASKROM mode
Last edited by sinjin In 4/24/2018 11:43 Editor

Hi,

I bought AIO-3399J board few days ago, then I tried to download firmware myself.
Using Android Tool (v2.38), I clicked 'EraseFlash' button in Upgrade Firmware tab but then it was failed.
When I turned off and on the board, it was in MASKROM mode, after then I can't do anything (eg, 'EraseFlash' or 'Upgrade' any firmware).
Is my board bricked? Is there any way to recover from this mode?

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
Sinjin

I saw the above link, and it described that
it will boot into MaskRom mode, which waits for host to send bootloader code through USB, then runs it, so that bootload can take control again.

I'm wondering that AndroidTool program can send the bootloader image to the board which is in MASKROM mode?

Fortunately, now I can download the firmware on my AIO-3399J board.
What I did that, I installed Linux host and downloaded the firmware using upgrade_tool instead of Android Tool, like below.
sudo upgrade_tool uf rockdev/Image-rk3399_firefly_aio_box/AIO-3399J_Android7.1.2_AIO-3399J_180529.img
