Took me a couple days, but I made an AutoItScript that will install gApps to the Firefly-RK3399 via ADB over usb

Just extract, then run Gapps_install.exe, wait for process to finish, RK3399 will reboot when done.

Included source for inspection.

OK found a fix, install "Market Helper" set device to Tablet>Nvidia Shield, then set Country and Carrier. This will alow more downloads, however i still got errors. So I changed the Android ID to that of my phone, and clear play store cache. Now I can download everything!

Thank you!

Update:
I included the Market Helper, increased verbosity, and fixed bug that would normally require you to run the script twice

Next I will make a Shell script for linux

No longer works for some reason - just installs the market helper which doesn't work despite active wifi connection. I've seen a lot of read/write errors in the script - any ideas how do I install google apps? Tried multiple options - none work.

No longer works as euroeffie's said. I've also seen a lot of read/write errors in the script. Btw maybe the cause is Google update their authentification method. Just another case, a few days ago i install gapps on my android with old apps (google service, service framework, etc) but it doesn't work but after install new app from apkmirror and androidapksbox it works. Or any update about the tutorial @BiatuAutMiahn?

This script has not been updated since 2017 is not guaranteed to work. When making this script I simply follow the script in the gApps install script and did the equivalent commands via ADB.

At some point I may write a wrapper that will interpret a flashable ZIP and install it via adb.
