Can an M.2 SSD fit on the firefly RK3399

Hello,
I wanted to place an M.2 SSD into the slot but I'm concerned about buying one because the angle it would need to fit is about 15 degrees to get over the USB female ports (seen in picture). If the M.2 SSD was short it would fit but all of them are of the 2280 form factor.
Has anyone tried this?
