Can an NVMe drive be used on the RK3399, or does the RK3399 not have enough PCIe

Hello,
I wanted to use an NVMe drive with the RK3399. I have the adapter board and I wanted to know if it was possible to use an M.2 drive that depends on 4 PCIe lanes or not?
I know an NVMe drive will go slower with 2 PCIe lanes of the RK3399. But since I'm not using a 4G LTE card would I have the full 4 lanes of bandwidth available?
Thanks!
