Hi Firefly team

I having trouble to upgrade my RK3399 board.

the steps I did:
1) downloaded the last firmware available, that is Firefly-RK3399_Android8.1.0_HDMI_181023.img,
and the update tool v1.31 for android 8 ('ive also tried the v1.34).

2) rebooted into "loader" mode bu pressing power, and holding recovery button for 3 sec.

3) run "./upgrade_tool uf ../../Firefly-RK3399_Android8.1.0_HDMI_181023.img" as a super user

expected - flashed firmware
real - system pass "Test Device Start" and "Test Device Successful", and then halt at "Check Chip Start" for at least 30 minutes.
also upgrade_tool EF, hangs for a long time, bat has no effect.

What is the right way to update to the last firmware ?

OK, fount the trick

before you install, remove the old firmware with the OLD update_tool (the same used to install, update_tool 1.24 in my case)
after that you can install the new firmware with the new android 8 tool
