So, yesterday evening I tried something interesting. I cut a DisplayPort cable in half and soldered the wires to a connector and then hooked up the AIO-3399J to a PC monitor via the eDP port. It correctly recognized the display and I saw some output. It was a little glitchy at first, (due to my awful soldering skills). But, I was able to position the wires carefully by hand until it worked flawlessly.
I am thinking about making an adapter board to go from the eDP pins to a DisplayPort connector. Would anyone be interested in this?
Next step is getting it working on my actual eDP display. I think my issue was the cables. I made them by hand, it seems that it should have at least been able to communicate via AUX. I'll keep messing with it and provide feedback. |
