【Hardware】 mPCIe card collision with capacitor C1013 and C1014

Hello all,

I wanted to use the Firefly RK3399 as a storage server. To do so I bought a mPCIe to 4x SATA adapter. Unfortunately the adapter has big capacitor exactly at the position the RK3399 has the two capacitors C1013 and C1014 so the card does not fit on the board.

Can you please provide a board layout with traces for VDD_CPU_L highlighted, so I can figure out where to move this two capacitors?

Best regards,
Mathias

You can remove the C1013 and C1014 in the front side:

Then connect them in parallel with other capacities at the back side:

Hi penguin,

thanks for your fast response. Relocating / stacking the capacitors worked (the board is still booting) but now I find a capacitor of the card hitting the DRAM IC U3200. I would be glad to see the area under card slots to be cleared in future board, but never the less thanks again for your support.

Best regards,
Mathias
