The board was crashing when the POE board was connected so I removed it.
I sucessfully updated ubuntu which in the past allowed stable operation when powered via POE injector.
I did a shutdown now in Ubuntu.
I reconnected the POE board the lan cable with power for POE was connected connected to the main board.
The main board also had power from USB C.
Now main board is dead.
Did I fry something by having both POE and USB power at same time?

Having both POE and USB power at same time is OKAY for this board.

have you checked whether all pins are working or not? If you are sure that you have fried the board then try it again on another board using an extra capacitor.
