Hi guys,

Finally here it is: Kodi on linux/rk3288!You can download an .img file on www.mac-l1.com, also for firefly.

For more details, see: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-pla ... odi-on-linux-rk3288.

Also a final tribute to my Firefly device, as it really died today - after already a month of struggling.
Yesterday it has built my final libhybris and kodi package. Those are now used in the downloadable image.
And just today, it died. Thank you for your hard work! R.I.P. my friend.

So I couldn't test the .img file myself - please let me know if it works...

Have fun! And of course,
Feel free to donate!

Cheers --

Mac

Brilliant work! works as expected well done!

Im testing this on the firefly linux firmware (firefly's stock ubuntu 14.04 non dualboot) it works fine.
BUT I just compiled the firefly kernel from the latest source at bitbucket using: firefly-rk3288-linux_defconfig and kodi won't start.

Kodi will not start unless I use the kernel (linux-boot.img) as packaged in the linux firmware.

So firefly team, are there any differences to the kernel in the Ubuntu 14.04 firmware: Firefly-RK3288_Ubuntu14.04_201501271612.7z compared to whats at bit bucket? or have recent changes to the kernel appear to have broken this?

Has anyone tried/could someone attempt playing some HEVC content with Kodi specifically, on the 3288? I'm considering using that combination as an STB, but I really need 1080p HEVC support. So if there's any

On a thinly related note seeming we're on the topic of kodi. Has anyone tried their luck with Openelec yet?
