Title: USB-C DisplayPort/HDMI [Print This Page] Author: crashoverride Time: 6/27/2017 02:00 Title: USB-C DisplayPort/HDMI Is video output over USB-C port enabled in the Ubuntu image? Has anybody got it working? If so, what is required?Author: isle Time: 6/27/2017 10:38
Yes ,It canAuthor: crashoverride Time: 6/27/2017 22:48
Using the latest kernel, I get the following errors:
[ 2387.961730] fusb302 4-0022: CC connected in 0 as DFP
[ 2388.451948] fusb302 4-0022: PD connected as DFP, supporting 5V
Since the above failure is a firmware call, there is no additional source code for debugging. It appears a DisplayPort firmware update will be required to address the issue.
The DisplayPort chip being used is the Parade PS176HDM verified by visual inspection of the USB-C to HDMI adapter. https://www.paradetech.com/products/ps176/Author: isle Time: 6/28/2017 10:56

I will test with the Android image. Since there is more than one Android image on the download page, can you please explicitly state which image file I should download and test?Author: crashoverride Time: 6/29/2017 21:11
I tested with the following Android "Firefly-RK3399_Android7.1.1_MP_170626.7z" image: https://drive.google.com/drive/f ... gAqAbFQxWDFiNnY1MDg
No display was available over USB-C with the HDMI adapter. The TV shows "No Signal" just as it does in Ubuntu.
Also of note is that changing the display input on the TV connected to the HDMI port causes Android to display garbage when switched back to the Firefly RK3399 device. This, however, is a topic for a different thread and of no concern to me since I do not use Android.
I can post a link to the adapter for purchase if requested. This would allow the Firefly team to reproduce the issue. The adapter is similar to the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport adapter. It has HDMI and USB-A (3.0) connectors with an additional USB-C port for attaching a charger.Author: crashoverride Time: 6/30/2017 02:49
Some additional information follows:
LDR6023 is a dual port USB Type-C controller with Display port Alternate mode supported,
especially design for USB PD Docking Stations with video output.
The datasheet is also available from the above link. Author: isle Time: 7/3/2017 09:50

I have tested with a USB-C to HDMI adapter that does not have a USB-A or charging port. When connecting the device, no output is available. Rebooting the device with the adapter already connected does work when connected to a 1080p monitor. However, when connected to a 4K monitor, the RK3399 board will lock up at boot and display garbage.
I require the use of USB-A (3.0) in addition to DisplayPort/HDMI simultaneously over the USB-C port. Please provide a firmware update that allows this functionality.
