What I want to know is does the board already have a 2.1mm plug or should i purchase the usb converter for the Power adapter?

It's not a standard 2.5/2.1mm DC socket (see my comment) ?so you will need the usb adapter.

i decided the 4amp one would be enough for my needs :] its cheaper too

any reason you wouldnt go beyond 3amp? as im aware the board will only pull what it needs so going beyond 3 would only mean more headroom.

Echoa:

The Firefly is internally protected at the dc plug with a 3 Amp fusible link. So if pull over 3 amps on the board you will be learning how to solder a new power plug on the board. Look at the schematics third page power supply upper right hand corner.

That was the size of the plug I ordered from EBAY with my new power supply and it worked perfectly.? Are you sure you need this or are you ordering your first one.? As I have mentioned I am not a normal user of the power for a normal user and the 2.5 amp if you have one should be fine.? Me I power everything from the board and with my pins in and pins out at times looks like noodle soup.

Im going to be attempting some heavy overclocking and using it as a micro console and media machine so itll see some decent loads so i want to make sure i dont have any power issues. Right now the highest i have is a 2.1amp which will have to work till i can order the 3amp plug.?
