Title: Ubuntu 16.04 - One Wire testing
We are missing a particular library

firefly@firefly:~$ modprobe wire
modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:586 kmod_search_moddep() could not open moddep file '/lib/modules/4.4.77/modules.dep.bin'
modprobe: FATAL: Module wire not found in directory /lib/modules/4.4.77

I know that firefly has HIGHLY customised their kernel to fill there needs, and there are many bits that can be missing depending on what you need to do.  As a baseline system, it is wonderful, but push it a little, and if falls down in many ways.

We really don't want to get into customised building of the kernel if we don't have to.

Any suggestions anyone?

Hi,
I have a similar problem tryong to use iptables:
modprobe iptables
modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:586 kmod_search_moddep() could not open moddep file '/lib/modules/4.4.77/modules.dep.bin'
modprobe: FATAL: Module iptables not found in directory /lib/modules/4.4.77
I'm using 8 firfly RK3399 to buil a HPC cluster managed with SLURM. One of the card is used as NAT server. With a previous version I was able to complete my task, but with Firefly-RK3399-ubuntu16.04-20180416112819.img and some other found going aroud in internet I'm not able to complete my task.
Has someone suggestions on how to solve this issue?

Hi, sara.bertocco. It is interesting to hear that you build the HPC cluster
using the Firefly-RK3399.

It seems that there're no kernel module files installed to the rootfs.
I suggest that you build the kernel, adding missing module as builtin,
and flash the new kernel to the board.
