Saw it some ware that AP6356S is now in the kernel. So ti is just a question of compiling the drivers in to the kernel.
Kernel module is hci_bcm and the kernel compile support is
enable HCI_BCM, SERIAL_DEV_BUS, BT_HCI_UART_SERDEV
The manufacturer might be AMPAC - Broadcom
When will we see newer kernel and Ubuntu 18.04 for firefly?
I have also got rockpro64 board and it is also using kernel 4.4.
What is good about rockpro64 is that you can bypass emmc with a jumper and start from SD card or USB if you put bootloader in to the SPI module with a SD image.

Bluetooth support of AP6356S in Ubuntu has long been a nasty bug. We took the effort
to contact with Rockchip, but got little help.
In the Ubuntu 18.04 (which can be downloaded from Baidu Pan, soon be available
in Google Drive), this bug still exists.
