I tried to install using the tuturial from Ian MORRISON but there is an error at the end of the installation and was unable to create the image.
Can anyone provide me a .img file fully functional for firefly of ubuntu 14 for sd card and or a place where i can get one ?Author: busybee Time: 1/14/2015 15:26

I also try the comand:
su ./create-linux-sdcard
as superuser boot it gives the same error at line 116
Can any one help me or give me a link with a complete ubuntu 14.04 sd image for firefly (full functional!)
thanksAuthor: busybee Time: 1/16/2015 14:09
From the message, it seems that rkcrc is not able to execute.
Either it is corrupoted, or you'll need to "chmod 755 rkcrc" first.

yes I also checked had execute permissions as root but had no restrictions .I gave up that idea and installed a dual boot firmware version of Ugoos and I was glad for the linux version is very complete . And the android is also complet with google play and every thing.the only problem is that the internet interface and VGA do not work! Thanks a lot Author: busybee Time: 1/17/2015 10:29
Please try to run rkcrc. In my case, it should output something like this:
$ ./rkcrc
usage: ./rkcrc [-k|-p] infile outfile
If it is not the case, please paste the result. Maybe you're not installing some i386 libs??
You can compile it from the "rkflashtool" (search github) project.

I can confirm the tip from busybee.
I had the same problem but if you download rkflashtool from git and you build it via make (if libusb-1.o is missing just install it via:
sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev
Copy the code
You just copy the created files rkcrc and rkunpack to the Tools folder of the create-linux-sdcard-usb folder.
Everything works fine after.Author: cappybob Time: 1/24/2015 02:47 Title: Re: boot Ubuntu from sd card I have also succeeded booting Ubuntu from a 2G uSD card to USB-125G SSD. I can remove the SD card and reinsert my 32G sd card and reboot my Firefly back into Android. Loving the best of two worlds. I can play with kernel images for both builds and also do the same for the the Linux systems RFs. Loving it, found the perfect platform. A image file that is possible to create a bootable sd with Win32DiskImager in Windows .Thanks for your helpBest Regards Author: jcdnxs Time: 1/24/2015 20:19 Title: Re: boot Ubuntu from sd card
Now i tried in firefly basic ubuntu with the steps that you provide and this>
Linux on PC(x86) and Linux on Firefly(ARM) are different too.
I don't recommend to assume Firefly(or anything) must be wrong, otherwise you'll lose a chance to learn more about Linux... Author: jcdnxs Time: 1/25/2015 16:36 Title: Re: boot Ubuntu from sd card Thanks you are right!Author: jcdnxs Time: 1/26/2015 01:33 Title: Re: boot Ubuntu from sd card
