Hi folks!
I have bought this board some days a go but I can't make the DTS and Dolby Digital Work... In MX Player it says that it's not compatible and in SPMC (spin off of XBMC/Kodi) it doesn't send DTS to neither Digital sound output nor HDMI. If I activate the Sound passtrought in SPMC, it still doesnt send DTS to my amplifier and the video gets super slow! This is kinda lame as my cheap RK3188 board could play those videos with no problem at all..
Any advices on that? Any image of Dual boot system with DTS integrated?
Thank you
I read somewhere that I could implement a patched libmedia.so . Does anyone have one?
Use latest Jan 2015 Firefly firmware.
Also change sound to HDMI Bitstream in Android, Settings.
Activate passthrough in SPMC and it will work.
Need to use SPMC v14.1, http://spmc.semperpax.com/
For MXPlayer need to use custom DTS codec, search on XDA forums.
Hi Dewet, I am using that firmware (the dual boot day 29 Jan)
As I don't have a TV that decodes DTS and Dolby 5.1, I only can use the Digital Sound (optical output one) to my amplifier. And If I activate the Passthorugh in SPMC 14.10 it doesn't work...
Any advices?
And BTW, I have installed Arm V7 codecs and MX player doesn't send AC3 nor DTS (it's still says it's incompatible).
Regards
I suspect libmedia.so needs to be patched/hacked but I have no knowledge to do so.. Is there anyone to be able to do such thing? There are plenty of libmedia.so hacked but for other devices in freaktab.
Thank you

Not possible to patch new libmedia.so, since there were too many changes for passthrough in Dec 2014.
Passthrough patch location for old libmedia.so(before Dec 2014) is different then for new libmedia.so and says failed when I try to patch latest libmedia from Firefly firmware.
Even with patched libmedia, it will make no difference and cause stability issues.
This board is not cheap and do so little... Already regretted of "upgrading" (not really, it has more speed but Video acceleration sucks and video decoding sucks too, comparing to my old RK3188 board). Firefly should fix this issues. It's not acceptable! It's hardware is capable of doing much more.
I guess I will have to move to Intel SoC if this is not fixed any time soon.
Thank you anyone Dewet.
P.S. The box can decode the audio and pass decoded but that's real DTS. My amplifier detects only Digital sound and not DTS.

I can see some pass-throught related changes developed by Rockchip.
I wonder how internal tester on users forum could develop pass-through. but I think Rockchip implementation will be included in future firmware for Firefly and any other RK3288 based products eventually.
(btw CNY holidays will be started soon)

it should be good for you too!
