Title: Injured on Public Transit in LA ¡ª Not Sure What My Options Are
Hey everyone,
I wanted to get some general thoughts about something that¡¯s been on my mind. A few weeks ago, I was injured during a sudden stop on a metro train here in Los Angeles. At the time, it didn¡¯t seem like a huge deal. I didn¡¯t fall completely, but I was thrown forward pretty hard and ended up with ongoing neck and shoulder pain.
Now that medical appointments are stacking up, I¡¯m starting to realize this might not be as minor as I first assumed. The confusing part is figuring out who¡¯s actually responsible in a situation like this. It¡¯s not like a normal car accident where there¡¯s another driver clearly involved. With public transportation, it feels more complicated.
I¡¯ve been considering whether I should speak with a
Los Angeles personal injury lawyer just to understand how claims involving city transit systems work. I¡¯ve also read that in cases involving buses or trains, a
metro accident attorney might be more familiar with the specific procedures and deadlines tied to government agencies.
What makes this harder is that I didn¡¯t collect much evidence at the time. No photos, no witness contact information. I did file a report with the transit authority, but I¡¯m not sure what happens after that or how long these things typically take.
If anyone has dealt with something similar in LA, especially involving metro lines or buses, I¡¯d appreciate hearing how it unfolded for you. I¡¯m mostly trying to understand whether it¡¯s worth formally pursuing or if these cases tend to stall out because they involve public entities.
Just trying to get a clearer picture of what to expect.
