Re: How to change the boot logo

You have to compile your own kernel with a different logo or without to skip the logo.

Re: How to change the boot logo

i am not sure which logo you really want to change , i guess change "logo_linux_clut224.ppm" this file may be your choice .

kernel/drivers/video/logo/logo_linux_clut224.ppm

Answer is above.

Make sure in kernel menuconfig that logo file mentioned is used.

Can use most Linux picture editors to make your own ppm file logo.

Re: How to change the boot logo

Thank you for the reply.

I am at the point where I need to mount the resource.img as the boot picture is supposed to be there according to the following link: http://wiki.t-firefly.com/index.php/Fir ... t_Firmware

Unfortunately I am getting an error when executing the following command : sudo mount -o loop resource.img /mnt/resource

Mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.

The same command works fine should I do it for system.img

The question is what command should I use to mount the resource.img so that I can access it ?

Thank you

Re: How to change the boot logo

You can't mount resource.img, not possible.

You can only extract the dtb file from resource.img, but won't help you since it is also already in the firefly kernel's boot directory.

The logo is inside the kernel, have to compile a new kernel.

Got that, thank you. I followed the steps in that link. the only place I was able to see pictures is the rockchip-mkbootimg/firefly-rk3288-kernel/drivers/video/logo however I was not able to see the boot screen image of firefly. do I need to look somewhere else ?
