【General】 Looking for Flexible Therapist Office Space in NYC – Any Experience with Hive Th

Hi everyone,
I have been exploring options for a more stable and professional therapist office space in NYC and recently came across hive therapy. I’m curious if anyone here has direct experience working out of their location.
From what I’ve seen so far, the setup seems designed specifically for mental health professionals rather than general coworking. That matters to me. I’ve worked in shared office environments before and, honestly, the atmosphere can feel a little off when the space isn’t built with therapy sessions in mind. Sound privacy, waiting areas, and just the overall tone of the place make a difference.
What caught my attention about hive nyc is that it appears to focus entirely on clinicians — psychologists, social workers, LMFTs, etc. The idea of being surrounded by other therapists instead of random freelancers sounds more aligned with how I want to practice. There’s something reassuring about being in a setting where everyone understands the rhythm of sessions, cancellations, and quiet hallways.
I’m also wondering about scheduling flexibility. One of the ongoing challenges with therapist office space is finding something that doesn’t require a full-time lease commitment right away. Some of us are still building caseloads or adjusting hybrid schedules, so having hourly or part-time availability can make a big difference. Long-term leases in Manhattan can feel overwhelming if you’re not fully booked yet.
Another thing I’m thinking about is client experience. When clients arrive at an office, even small details matter. Clean waiting areas, natural light, secure entry, and an overall calm design all shape how the session begins before you even start talking. If anyone has feedback on how hive therapy handles the physical environment, I’d appreciate hearing about it.
Location-wise, being in NYC already comes with certain expectations. Accessibility via subway lines, safety of the neighborhood, and the general professionalism of the building all matter. I don’t necessarily need something flashy, just something consistent and appropriate for outpatient mental health work.
I’ve seen some therapist communities mentionhive nyc as a kind of collective environment rather than just rental rooms. I’m not sure how structured that aspect is — whether it’s simply shared space or if there are actual networking or peer support opportunities built in. Sometimes those things happen naturally anyway when clinicians share a hallway.
Cost transparency is another question. With therapist office space, pricing structures can vary a lot — monthly memberships, per-hour bookings, deposits, minimum commitments. If anyone has navigated their pricing model, I’d be interested in how straightforward it felt.
I’m at that point in my practice where working from home no longer feels ideal, but jumping into a traditional commercial lease feels premature. Spaces like hive therapy seem to sit somewhere in between, which is why I’m exploring it.
If you’ve rented there — short term or long term — I’d really appreciate your perspective. Even small details about how the rooms feel during sessions or how management communicates would be helpful. Sometimes those everyday experiences matter more than the polished descriptions on a website.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
