Exam Description & OverviewPurpose / Goal:
It assesses a candidate’s knowledge and skills in mammography, including patient care, imaging techniques, positioning, quality assurance, and radiation safety. Format & Structure: Eligibility & Requirements: Candidates usually must already be certified in radiography. Clinical experience is required, including performing a minimum number of supervised mammography procedures. Structured education and coursework in mammography must be completed.
Scoring & Passing: A scaled score system is used. A passing score is generally 75 or higher. The pass rate for first-time candidates is around 87–88%.
