Consequently, Fireduino is not an open source platform - but the developer and distributors mislead uninformed buyers! If be call a spade by name, then Fireduino is a software emulator of Arduino on a proprietary hardware core and OS, with extremely limited compatibility with classic Arduino (both as with software codes and as with hardware extended shields).
The only positive thing in fireduino is a fairly high-quality audio codec, though again with artificially neutered functionality (there is no equalizer, no mixer, you cannot switch bitrate modes).
It's a shame ... Since, no doubt, the developers have done a lot of work. |
