I'm afraid the log does not reveal any cause to the auto-shutdown of the system.

That's strange. Which firmware version did you use? Are you using eMMC or SD card
as boot media?

I am using SD card. For people who are facing the same issue here is what I was adviced to use by Firefly which worked.
  1. sudo  mv  /usr/lib/upower/upowerd /usr/lib/upower/upowerd.bak

This is a workaround to disable the `upowerd` service, while the culprit does not reveal.
