I noticed this commit in the kernel source, could anyone advise what it's for?

I'm getting choppy video in Xubuntu 14.04, the problem seems to be system wide, in Firefox, chromium (with or without pepper flash)

Has anyone experienced this before?

It's because there is no GPU/VPU acceleration for videos in Linux for RK3288 devices.

That above commit is for the default Android video player and won't make any difference.

Hi, yes I realise there's no acceleration but non HD videos should play ok. The problem is when starting to play a video its playing maybe 2 FPS and then it gradually speeds up until after about a minute when it's playing pretty much perfectly.
