While trying to use the manual at "http://wiki.t-firefly.com/index.php/Firefly-RK3288/MaskRom/en" to enter MASKROM mode, whenever we connect the two points and try to boot the device, it does not do anything. If we try to enter recovery mode, we arrive in LOADER mode as normal. So we cannot get into MASKROM mode.
What are we doing wrong, or can we avoid using MASKROM mode altogether?Author: wouter Time: 5/22/2017 19:11
We have now been able to get into MASKROM mode by erasing the firmware using the Windows tool, but the rkdeveloptool now gives the error "Error:RKU_DeviceRequest-->DeviceRequest vendor=0x471 failed, err=-9" when we try to upload the ubootloader.Author: isle Time: 5/23/2017 09:40

Using "rkdeveloptool ef" on Linux seemed not to work correctly to boot into the maskrom mode at all as the device would still boot into the loader mode. The flashing of this new firmware is done in Linux using the flash_tool.sh script which internally seems to call rkdeveloptool as well. However, we have to use the Windows tool to get the device into maskrom mode.
