Title: Can't get into loader mode [Print This Page]

Author: ac000    Time: 11/24/2014 01:49

Hi,

I have a Firefly RK3288 board and can't seem to get it into loader

mode.

I'm doing this from Linux, I have the rkflashkit gui running. From

the device being in a powered on state, I've tried both the following

as noted from

http://wiki.t-firefly.com/index.php/Fir ... #Boot_Mode.

As soon as I press the reset key the device powers off, after a few seconds it

powers back on but in normal boot mode.

Any idea's what I'm doing wrong? Does it matter if the JTAG/serial cable is

connected? I've tried it both with and without.

Cheers,

Andrew

Err, hang on, I've just tried using the cable from my phone and it seems to

be working!

you can try the following steps:

1.make sure you have installed the driver.

2. Keep device power off

3.Use micro USB OTG cable to connect host and device together.

4.Press and hold RECOVERY key.

5.power on the device

Until discover the device on your computer, then you can Release RECOVERY key.

Short remark:

From RK3188 I learned that it might take some seconds (3...5) until the Loader has started the USB and connected the driver on the PC side. So releasing the button to early may result in the Loader is going to power off again.?

So a general rule should be:

Press RECOVERY, power on or press and release?RESET, take a deep breath, wait another few seconds and then release RECOVERY.

If you're still not sure if the Loader has connected to your Linux box:

Call "tail -f /var/log/kern.log" and you can see if the device does register.

Thanks for the replies...

I was trying to connect a USB OTG adaptor to the USB OTG port. No, No, No.

Cheers,

Andrew
