Usability/Stability as a desktop replacement in Ubuntu

I have a RK3288 device called UT3 which runs Ubuntu 14.10 (kernel 3.10) and Mate Desktop without problems.
It is already usable for everyday tasks like web browsing, mailing, skype, office and watching Youtube in fullscreen 720p.
Stability is also ok, I had it running for more than 10 days (24/7) in one go without issues.
