I am trying to install ubuntu on my firefly RK3399 following these instructions http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/product/info/id/263.html.

Install fails at "Wait For Loader Fail" after I click Upgrade. I tried the LowerFormat suggestion and it still fails. Do I need any media inserted on the firefly? Why is it failing? Also, I did the reset/recovery button sequence and Rockusb Device shows up in the Device Manager (windows 10).

FW version 8.1.276
Loader version 1.19
Chip info RK330C
Firmware FIREFLY-RK3399-UBUNTU18.04-GPT-20190910-0922.img

The issue was resolved by connecting SATA DVD-ROM to a different SATA controller.

In the previous configuration, DVD-ROM was connected to ASMedia SATA port, now it's connected to Z77 SATA. Apparently Ubuntu (and other Linux distros I've tried: openSUSE, CentOS) refused to boot with previous connection configuration. Windows (7, 10) had no obvious problems with the old configuration.
